Pakistan remembers APS martyrs on 11th anniversary of school tragedy

On 16 December 2014, militants attacked the Army Public School in Peshawar. One hundred and forty-four people were killed in the attack.

The victims included 132 children. The attackers held children and teachers hostage.

The banned TTP claimed responsibility for the attack. The National Action Plan was introduced following the attack.

Military and intelligence operations gained significant momentum. The establishment of military courts was decided.

The counter-terrorism policy was given a new direction.

President vows to continue exposing anti-Pakistan elements

On this occasion, expressing his thoughts, President Asif Ali Zardari said: “No dialogue is possible with those who take up arms against the state.”

President Zardari strongly condemned terrorism under Indian sponsorship, vowing to continue exposing the anti-Pakistan elements.

The president paid tribute to security forces and law enforcement agencies.

He said: “Every terrorist and facilitator will be pursued and never allowed to succeed.”

Sacrifices of innocent children, staff will be remembered

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif issued a message on the anniversary of the Army Public School Peshawar tragedy.

He paid tribute to the martyrs of Army Public School, Peshawar. The martyrs offered their precious lives for the future of the nation, said the prime minister.

PM Shehbaz maintained that the harrowing attack was a severe trial for the entire nation, adding that the tragedy filled hearts with grief but did not weaken national resolve, the Prime Minister noted.

He maintained that the sacrifices of the innocent children, teachers, and staff of the APS will always be remembered.

The complete eradication of terrorism from Pakistan is the true justice for the tragedy, he said.

He added that the entire nation shares the grief of the bereaved and salutes their patience and steadfastness.

The premier said that the APS tragedy reminds that the struggle against terrorism is not yet over, adding that the state, security agencies, and the people remain determined to eliminate terrorism.

“Today, the commitment is renewed that operations against terrorism will continue. Peace will not return until the last terrorist is eliminated,” the prime minister said.

He said that the sacrifices made for Pakistan’s bright future will not be in vain.

APS tragedy remains a bitter memory

Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) President Abdul Aleem Khan expressed sorrow on the 11th anniversary of the APS tragedy.

Abdul Aleem Khan paid tribute to the young martyrs of Army Public School, Peshawar. “The harrowing incident continues to sadden the nation; the young martyrs are the heroes of the country”, he said.

The federal minister said that the sacrifices of the innocent in the war against terrorism can never be forgotten, adding that the APS tragedy remains a bitter memory, still alive in the hearts of the people.

He maintained that the APS tragedy is a great story of sacrifice, which will always be recorded in golden letters.

The IPP president said that the brave Pakistani nation laid down its future on the sacred land with its own hands.

Aleem Khan said that the indiscriminate firing on students seeking knowledge was the height of brutality.
